Dental restorations

Restorations generally refer to dental materials that are used to rebuild a portion of a damaged tooth. These options include fillings, inlays, onlays (or partial crowns), and full-coverage crowns. Dental composite bonding and porcelain veneers also replace enamel; however, these procedures are primarily used to improve smile aesthetics. For instance, direct veneers (bonding) and indirect veneers (porcelain veneers) are placed on prepared tooth surfaces to disguise imperfections, such as gaps between teeth and chipped enamel.

Dental bridges and dentures also restore the appearance, function, and health of your teeth; however, these options replace the entire portion of the tooth that is seen above the gum line (the crown).
